Charm Evolution approved for electronic prescribing across Australia, streamlining cancer care

Magentus’s cloud-based oncology information system, Charm Evolution®, has been officially approved for electronic prescribing across Australia, marking a major milestone in the digital transformation of cancer care.

Now listed on the Australian Digital Health Agency’s Electronic Prescribing Register of Conformance, and meeting additional state-level requirements in Western Australia and Tasmania, Charm Evolution enables oncology prescribers to generate and send prescriptions digitally – eliminating the need for paper scripts and reducing the risk of medication errors.

Prescriptions are uploaded to the National Prescription Delivery Service and delivered to patients via secure SMS or email tokens, ensuring timely access to chemotherapy and other critical therapies.

Integration with My Health Record ensures complete visibility of a patient’s medication history across the care team.

In Tasmania, Charm Evolution® has also been approved as a compliant digital solution for signing narcotic and restricted substance instructions in medical institutions — further strengthening its role in secure, compliant and patient-centred cancer care.

Margot Mason, Magentus APAC Head of Clinical Services, said:

“This approval puts safer prescribing directly into the hands of oncology teams. Charm Evolution now helps clinicians move faster, reduce risk, and focus on delivering care with confidence. It is also an important step in supporting patient peace of mind.”

The approval builds on the 2024 listing of the desktop-based Charm solution and reflects Magentus’s broader mission to simplify complex clinical workflows and support oncology teams in delivering safer, more connected care.

Modernising oncology workflows, improving outcomes

Charm Evolution replaces paper-based processes with a secure, centralised electronic system that gives clinicians real-time access to patient information—reducing delays, improving accuracy, and enhancing clinical decision-making.

The platform supports:

  • Improved clinical safety through standardised protocols and decision support tools
  • Streamlined pharmacy workflows with timely, accurate medication orders
  • Better shared care via real-time data capture and visibility across the cancer care team

Enhanced patient experience by reducing wait times and improving access to treatment
