Scotland national framework

Building the UK’s largest connected laboratory medicine network via NHS Scotland’s Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) framework. The network has the potential to link and streamline complex clinical processes to improve the patient experience for the population of Scotland.

Accelerating introduction of AI in radiology

We have lent our expertise to enable the integration of AI into radiology at Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust, who selected the prioritisation platform red dot®, owned by Behold.ai.

Through our AI Connect gateway, we have integrated Behold’s AI (artificial intelligence) algorithm into Dartford’s radiology workflow to support quicker image reporting.

Birmingham & Solihull multi-site solution

Magentus is reshaping connected pathology services for more than 2.5 million patients across the Birmingham and Solihull area each year, implementing and operating its innovative Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) across eight key sites. The unique Evolution vLab LIMS is transforming pathology services across all sites operated by University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust and Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust, providing a fully-managed, multi-site and multi-discipline LIMS supporting the activities of all pathology areas.

Expanding Mater hospital network

Magentus is helping Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton roll out a revolutionary healthcare approach that connects every aspect of a cancer patient’s care into one central system. The regional Queensland hospital has joined four of Mater’s South-East Queensland hospitals in introducing the market-leading CHARM® oncology information management solution to enhance chemotherapy treatment delivery, boosting the hospital’s capacity to provide safe and timely patient care. The move has created standardisation across all Mater facilities and opened the door for administration and system support across the Mater network.

Lancashire & South Cumbria united

Magentus is connecting all NHS pathology services in Lancashire & South Cumbria, replacing the four standalone LIMS systems that are currently used across eight hospital sites, cutting costs and providing a common platform that will link all laboratories together for the first time. It will support 800 employees and a growing regional population of about 1.7 million people. The new system is a key enabler in improving patient pathways across multiple health areas including cancer.

Feature success

Better clinical workflow and patient care across a vast geographic area

Evolution vLab® has helped public hospitals, pathologists and physicians across one of Australia’s largest states deliver better patient outcomes for more than 25 years. The partnership with the government health department started with the connection of five regional labs in 1997, now connecting the entire state — 36 pathology labs and more than 200 healthcare facilities — processing up to 50,000 clinical enquiries each day.

We’re able to deliver more accurate results to patients in less time, meaning everyone in the state is benefitting from better clinical outcomes.

Using AI to accelerate image reporting

We have helped accelerate the introduction of AI into radiology at Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust in the UK, where our AI Connect gateway has been used to integrate Behold.ai’s red dot® prioritisation platform.

The algorithm, which connects with the Trust’s Evolution vRIS®, supports quicker image reporting by separating radiology studies into normal and abnormal categories in less than 30 seconds, based on more than 30,000 example images.

Our recent AI development for CXR with Behold.ai would not be as efficient if not for the AI Connect gateway. Magentus have proven themselves time and time again to be real digital partners across radiology, maternity and wider.

Creating a shared chemotherapy platform for a wide region

We helped create a shared oncology solution usable across six hospital locations providing over 10,000 chemotherapy treatments each year.

With Charm Evolution®, all six hospitals now have a centralised patient record with access to treatment plans, appointment scheduling and simplified reporting. This means if patients need to move hospital their complete treatment history is accessible, enabling greater patient care.

This product will align the region with best practice chemotherapy prescribing and lead to improved quality and safety for cancer patients in our region.

Helping St John of God Subiaco Hospital improve their oncology care process

St John of God Subiaco Hospital has been using Charm Evolution® since 2022, when they began a pilot of our system with a view to a wider network rollout. We have helped the Comprehensive Cancer Centre within the hospital streamline access to treatment information, provide advanced reporting capability and help their care teams provide the best in personalised cancer care.

Having the right information available to the right caregivers at the right time is vital to ensuring safe and optimised clinical decision-making at every step of the journey for our patients receiving cancer care.

Continual support for a leader in high-risk maternity care

The University Hospital of Leicester NHS Trust, sought out for their specialisation in maternity care for high-risk women, has been using Euroking for over three decades. We continually work with their team to roll out system upgrades, enabling them to access up-to-date datasets, adopt improved paperless processes, and align with clinical updates and national reporting guidelines.

Through each evolution, requirements and specific needs core to the NHS trust have been retained. These updates have seen the trust experience significant cost savings and reduced staff frustration through improved efficiency enabled by digitisation.

Euroking has played a key role in the digitisation of our maternity strategy for over three decades. By merging new functions in an integrated fashion with our current processes, we are able to transform and innovate our processes and improve experiences for pregnant women.

Helping an orthopaedic surgeon move to the cloud

Dr Adam Woodridge is an orthopaedic surgeon in Sydney who moved to Gentu from Genie. He and his team wanted a more flexible practice management solution they could access from outside of the office.

They appreciated their newfound remote working capabilities, the ability to communicate easily across the practice, and the training and technical support provided by our team during their transition.

The best feature for us, is the flexibility that it affords us. Any user can use it any time, from any computer, from any location! With all the COVID-19 restrictions, we were all able to work from home when we needed to, so it was perfect.
