A contract for the implementation of a new Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) across all NHS pathology services in Lancashire & South Cumbria has been awarded to Magentus. The new single LIMS will replace the four standalone systems that are currently used across eight hospital sites, cutting costs and providing a common platform that will link all laboratories together for the first time. It will support 800 employees and a growing regional population of approximately 1.7 million people.

Mark McConnell

Group CEO & Founder
Mark has led Magentus through its transformation into a leading global health technology company. Mark was co-founder of The Citadel Group Limited, a software and services company, and the predecessor to what is now Magentus Group Pty Ltd. Mark was appointed CEO in 2019. Mark is a successful business developer whose skills cover the areas of business strategy, investor relations, capital raising and innovation. After serving as an officer in the Royal Australian Air Force for almost a decade, Mark moved into the corporate world and has worked across various executive roles in aviation, technology and investment banking.

Christopher Ladds

CEO, APAC and CEO, EMEA (Interim)
Christopher has over 26 years of experience in healthcare industry leadership roles, both in the UK and Australia, specialising in delivering complex technology and healthcare transformation programs. His leadership across global consultancies on significant public and private sector healthcare transformation programs has helped drive the use of health technology to create more efficient systems and deliver better healthcare outcomes.

Ann-Marie Moss

Chief People Officer
Ann-Marie brings over 25 years of people focused experience and is passionate about fostering a positive and productive work culture with a focus on helping people at the heart of the business to thrive. She has been delivering exceptional people, culture and capability outcomes through quality future-focused workforce strategies, coupled with best practice engagement activities, organisational design and talent management.

Jenny Martin

Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer
Jenny has been with Magentus since 2018, leading the Shared Services team comprising of finance, legal, people and culture and information technology. Jenny has overseen the acquisition and integration of Wellbeing Software and Genie Solutions during her tenure and has played a leading role in consolidating the businesses into the single health brand of Magentus and creating a world class support function. Jenny is a Chartered Accountant with over 20 years’ experience working in finance and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She brings significant experience in financial management of technology and professional services organisations.

Michele Blanshard

CEO, Practice Management
Michele is a highly experienced general management, marketing and sales executive. The past 20 years has seen her in various senior roles within the healthcare industry, including Johnson & Johnson and Medtronic. Michele is known for her ability to develop outstanding leaders and build a truly diverse and inclusive workforce. With a philosophy underpinned by collaboration and service to community, she is a passionate advocate for healthcare initiatives.

Spencer Chipperfield

General Counsel
Spencer is an experienced private practice and in-house lawyer with a background practising in top-tier law firms in Australia and England, and in-house at listed and unlisted companies. He joined Magentus as its first General Counsel and full-time Company Secretary. His role is to support our Board, Executive and key business units in meeting their business, risk, and compliance goals. In earlier roles, he has managed high-performing legal teams, led significant business changes, and worked in internationally-exposed companies with significant risk and governance diversity.

Stephen Lynch

Chief Strategy Officer
For over thirty years Stephen has held executive positions in health and health technology across Australia. He has a strong interest in areas such as e-health reform, secure messaging, primary care and connected health technology. Stephen has extensive experience in taking health technology into markets across Australia, Asia, the United Kingdom and the Middle East and looks forward to the next step of the Magentus journey in creating a healthier society.

David Crockett

General Manager, Business Development
David has led a highly successful career overseeing healthtech growth into domestic and international markets, including the Americas, UK, EMEA, and APAC. With more than 20 years of sales leadership experience, he brings a wealth of expertise to his role as a key member of the Magentus team. David is a highly motivated individual with a strong collaborative focus, dedicated to driving Magentus towards continued success in the global marketplace.

Amy Curtis

Chief Marketing Officer
Amy has 20 years’ experience in marketing management, including working for international powerhouses such as American Express and Mastercard. In her role as Chief Marketing Officer, she is passionate about ensuring her team works collaboratively with divisions across the entire business to deliver impressive results. Amy instils a customer-first mentality with all team members and utilises her rich experience to make every campaign and strategy the best it can be.

Dr Michelle Tempest

Candesic Partner
Dr Michelle Tempest worked as a hospital doctor in the NHS for over a decade. She is partner in a strategy consultancy company, Candesic, who deliver R&D level insight with CEO level clarity in life sciences, healthcare, digital, medtech and education. She edited a book called ‘The Future of the NHS’ and is author of ‘Big Brain Revolution: Artificial Intelligence – Spy or Saviour’. She is a Cambridge Angel investor and mentors start-ups.

David Wells

IBMS Chief Executive
David Wells took up the position of Chief Executive of the IBMS in 2021, after successfully leading the NHS England and NHS Improvement Pathology consolidation programme. During this time he led NHS England's COVID-19 testing and the response to the pandemic. In 2020 he was awarded Honorary Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists in recognition of his contribution to Pathology.

Hugh Risebrow

Latchmore Associates CEO
Hugh Risebrow is CEO at Latchmore Associates. He has extensive senior experience across the UK healthcare services sector, having worked at the public and private healthcare interface for many years. Prior to joining Latchmore, Hugh held leadership positions at Synlab, NHS, BUPA Dental, and Interhealth Canada.

Dr Rizwan Malik

UKIO President
Dr Rizwan Malik, the President of UKIO (UK Imaging and Oncology) is a leading radiologist with an interest in health tech, digital imaging, and the potential of AI to support clinicians and patients. He has been a clinical advisor to leading imaging suppliers and advises the NHS and vendors on transformation and innovation.
