Business Development Manager

Short Summary:

Reporting to the General Manager, Business Development, this role will see you actively contribute to the continual growth of the health division through building market position and working with other employees in Australia to develop, define, negotiate and close business relationships. You will proactively manage and drive the end-to-end tender response and proposal process while enhancing the company’s reputation by accepting ownership for exploring new opportunities to add value to the organisation. An important component of this role is keeping updated on relevant job knowledge and trends by participating in educations opportunities and maintaining professional networks whilst sharing your knowledge and experience with junior members of the team.

What about the role:

  • Identifying new sales leads, potential new markets and tend set ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements.
  • Locating and pitching products and services to net new opportunities and discovering and exploring opportunities with clients.
  • Screening potential business deals by analysing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities; recommending solutions.
  • Providing client proposals and quotations with associated pricing for the delivery of the proposed solutions.
  • Monitoring, registering and conducting preliminary enquiries for Requests for Tender (RFTs), Requests for Quotation (RFQ) and Public Tender listings in their designated accounts and territories.
  • Developing and executing strategic responses for strategies to the RFQs and RFT’s.
  • Maintaining strong sales growth within designated accounts and territories and working closely with other teams within the group to develop new business.

What experience or qualifications do I need:

  • 5+ years hands on proven work experience as a Business Development Manager or similar.
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen with a solutions-based approach to selling.
  • Experience working with clients to investigate, develop and implement or advise on methods for achieving sound software configuration and code.
  • Strong knowledge of the health industry is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Oncology and Pathology is highly desirable.
  • Experience selling into international markets is highly desirable.
  • Experience in the competitive tender processes used by Federal government, State government and Private Enterprise is desirable but not essential.
  • Demonstrated experience with the proficient use of the Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Experience with public speaking is highly desirable.
