Cloud Engineer

Our Cloud Engineer is responsible for the effective design, implementation, and maintenance of our cloud infrastructure across both AWS and Azure as we migrate away from legacy on-premise systems to cloud platforms.

What about the role:

  • Ensuring our systems are robust, effective, and reliable.
  • Using IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS offerings as required to implement cloud-based solutions.
  • Management of Intune for delivery of a Standard Operating Environment for internal end users.
  • Working alongside other technical departments to maintain existing cloud systems while meeting the standards set by Magentus.
  • Troubleshooting to identify and solve issues with cloud solutions.
  • Monitor, analyse and identifying enhancements to cloud solutions.

What experience do I need:

  • Extensive practical experience with Windows Server, Linux RHEL/CentOS, VMware, Cloud Technologies, Azure, Microsoft 365 and SAN Storag
  • Azure and AWS certifications preferred.
  • Proven work experience as a Cloud Engineer.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code and configuration management tooling, such as Terraform, Azure ARM, AWS CloudFormation, and ansible.
  • Understanding of containerisation principles and frameworks such as Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Excellent knowledge of cloud computing technologies and current computing trends.
  • Good understanding of software development processes.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify patterns and insights from cloud-based infrastructure and system performance data.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with other members of the IT department.
  • Ability to gather requirements, propose and implement solutions.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools.
  • Experience with assisting and transformation of IT Environments to cloud-based solutions would be advantageous.
