Senior IT Support Consultant

Short Summary:

Reporting to the IT Service Desk Manager this position will serve as the point of contact for escalated support cases beyond Level 1/ 2 triage. The Senior IT Support Consultant is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of external clients and stakeholders with a strong focus on customer service, establishing and maintaining effective relationships to gain trust and respect when providing IT support services. They will leverage their expertise in Microsoft Azure, Intune, and the Microsoft 365 suite, including SharePoint, Exchange, and Teams, to effectively manage cloud-based solutions and end-user environments.

What about the role:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for escalated support cases beyond Level 1/2 triage.
  • Offer expert guidance and technical mentorship to service desk consultants, fostering skill development and facilitating effective issue resolution.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in administering Microsoft Azure, Intune, and the Microsoft 365 suite, including SharePoint, Exchange and Teams.
  • Configure and deploy Microsoft Intune policies to facilitate efficient application deployment and ensure compliance with organisational standards.
  • Effectively manage Mac systems utilising JAMF, ensuring seamless configuration, deployment, and ongoing maintenance to meet organisational needs and standards.
  • Action tickets within the service desk, while also conducting regular maintenance, troubleshooting, patching and enhancement of end-user systems and device infrastructure for customers.
  • Support the SysOps team in implementing projects with a particular focus on application patching while adhering to cybersecurity measures and compliance.
  • Participate in project work involving the building and implementation of IT infrastructure both on-site and remotely.
  • Collaborate with business unit stakeholders to address issues, gather input on business requirements, and work as a team to resolve client and stakeholder concerns.

What experience do I need:

  • Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience in the IT professional services industry as an IT Support Engineer, Systems Administrator, or Infrastructure Engineer.
  • Expertise in administering Microsoft products and solutions, handling setup, deployment, and ongoing maintenance across Azure, Intune, SharePoint, Exchange, and Teams and end user devices.
  • Effectively utilise JAMF to configure, deploy and maintain Mac systems.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell.
  • Microsoft certification is desirable (e.g., Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert, Endpoint Administrator Associate, Azure Administrator Associate).
