Frequently asked questions

Pilot release

No. Gentu Scribe is free during the pilot phase. If pricing is introduced in the future, you will give you advance notice before any costs apply.

You’re agreeing to use Gentu Scribe in accordance with our Terms & Conditions on behalf of your practice. This includes acknowledging its pilot status, allowing us to contact you for feedback, and understanding that pricing may be introduced in the future.

We may contact you to understand what’s working, what’s not, and what would make Gentu Scribe more useful in your practice. Your feedback directly shapes the product ahead of general release.

Data & Security

Patient data remains identifiable within Gentu. As part of the practice management system, full patient records are retained for clinical use (appointments, notes, billing, prescriptions, etc.).

Yes, all data is encrypted end-to-end with AES-256 at rest and TLS 1.2+ in transit. Enterprise-grade protection at every step.

Patient data is stored in Australian data centres.

Audio recordings are stored for 30 days. Scribed content is saved directly into Gentu, so you (or authorised staff) can view, edit or print those records via the Gentu interface.

No data processed by Gentu Scribe is used to train the large language models used in our products. This is a written commitment from the AI service providers listed in our Terms & Conditions.

Data undergoes a rigorous de-identification process to remove personal identifiers, which is used to improve the tools clinicians have manage patient care.

Gentu security includes:

  • Secure Australian data centre hosting with physical protections
  • Encryption of data at rest and in transit
  • Security-hardened infrastructure and network protections against attacks
  • Strong authentication controls (e.g. password on first login and ability to change password).
  • International best-practice ISO 27001 certification for our Information Security Management System (ISMS).
  • Regular encrypted backups to enable data recovery.

Yes. Gentu’s backup strategy enables database restoration to within five seconds of an incident.

Legal

Yes, this is strongly recommended. Your privacy notice should inform patients that your practice uses an AI scribe to assist with clinical documentation. This helps you meet your privacy obligations under Australian law.

Patient Consent

Patient consent for audio recording consultations is legally required in most states, and is strongly recommended as best practice. Download our example patient consent form.

No, we recommend obtaining consent as part of new-patient onboarding.

Verbal consent should be documented in the clinical note for that consultation.

Clinical Responsibility & Accuracy

You are. All notes must be reviewed and approved before being saved to a patient’s medical record.

During or as soon as possible after the consultation, details are fresh. This ensures relevant observations, information and findings are included.

No. Gentu Scribe-generated notes are drafts and must be reviewed and corrected, including non-verbal cues and considerations, then saved to the patient’s medical record.

Implementation & Support

Please email [email protected] to report any issues.

If audio upload fails, transcription won’t proceed and you’ll need to restart the recording.

All updates are delivered automatically. No action is required from your practice.
