To activate pathology eRequests in Genie you’ll first need to update to Genie 10.2.2 or above, following which you must run an execute command. If you’re running Genie 10.2.7 or above, pathology eRequests are available by default and you do not need to run the command. Detailed instructions are available here.
To activate radiology eRequests in Genie, you’ll first need to update to Genie v10.2.2 or above. Following the upgrade, you must run two execute commands to enable the functionality. Detailed instructions are available here.
Simply choose an eRequest enabled lab via the lab menu in the Request window to start sending pathology or radiology eRequests.
Yes, when sending an eRequest the default option is “Print and Send”. This enables you to print the request form for the patient whilst also sending a digital copy to the pathology lab or imaging provider. As long as the patient has a mobile number recorded in their Patient Details window and “Do not SMS” is unticked, they’ll receive an SMS with their eRequest.
Yes, patients can present their request at any pathology provider in two ways:
Radiology requests are sent securely to the nominated imaging provider. If a patient wishes to attend a different radiology provider, they will need to obtain a printed version of the request form from their referring clinician and present their printed copy when attending that provider.
Yes, we’ve added a ‘Do Not SMS’ checkbox at the bottom of the request window. This means your patient won’t receive an SMS from the lab.
No. eRequests are free of charge with the SMS cost being covered by the provider.
